ARAB CULTURE PROGRAMME

One of the Foundation’s aims is to build a better understanding and appreciation of Arab culture in the UK.

And we are starting to introduce more contemporary aspects of the Arab world including highlighting the important contribution of Arab people to western culture.

The promotion of mutual understanding has never been more important and the exposure that adults and young people gain through our programmes is about breaking down barriers and building mutual respect.

The British Museum's Arab World Programme

Part of our programme supports the The Arab World Education Programme (AWEP) of the British Museum. This aims to bring the cultures of the Arab world to a wider audience in Britain and beyond by presenting them in an exciting and accessible way.

The British Museum is the world’s most visited museum and the programme reaches thousands of people every year through gallery talks, workshops, exhibitions and study days, both in the museum and in the community through its outreach programme.
