FURTHER EDUCATION PROGRAMME

The KRSF is able to provide small grants for specialised training.

This is intended for individuals or organisations in our target countries that are already working with children and young people in health, disability, education, risk reduction and the promotion of Arab culture. Training can take place locally, regionally, or exceptionally in the UK and should clearly contribute to building capacity in one or more of the Foundation's programme areas.

Support will only be given to those that can demonstrate a direct link between the proposed training and their work. Only organisations or individuals that have already identified and costed the required training should apply. Applications for part or joint funding are welcome.

Criteria for specialised training

Trainees:

  • Individuals who are currently working, preferably affiliated to reputable NGOs and/or institutions
  • The training should be not only for self-development but also for the development of the community and the organisation with which the trainee is working.

Training areas:

  • Priority areas include disability, health, education, risk reduction and promotion of Arab culture. Related specialised skills include those needed for management of such projects.
  • Skills acquired would benefit mainly children and young people

Duration:

  • Priority is given to short-term training but the Foundation may be able to support courses of up to one year's duration

Certification:

  • Preference will be given to training that leads to an accredited diploma or certificate

Budget:

  • A cost-effective budget for the training is required.
